The new 57 Ford custom kit is a really nice kit. It is a new tooling and is not a rehash of the old 57 ford . First off, this kit is a sedan, not a hardtop. The detail in this kit is really nice. For one thing, when was the last time you found a grill in a kit that came molded OPEN. Yes, I said molded open! You can see through it. Mine will need some VERY minor cleanup. Also, there are fuel lines for the engine. There are very few mold lines on the body,(no the doors do not open). All in all This is a very nice kit. I will try to give more reviews as I build mine up. Can't figure out how to post a new review of this kit, so will just continue here. This kit does have a few problems. One is that the chassis pan is too long to fit properly in the body. This can be solved by trimming the rear of the pan so it is flush with the frame.(do this before you add the bumper mounts). Also, the windshield needs just a little bit trimmed off the bottom. A little sanding fixed this. The fuel lines are tricky to install. I suggest installing the one that connects the carbs(if doing the drag version with the dual carbs)Before you install the air cleaners. Other than that, this kit builds up very nice. The decals are thin, and were easy to apply. some of them are very small. the only one I had trouble with was the one that goes on the front of the hood trim. It needed to be trimmed very close to the image, as the film around it made it slightly to big. The tires will do well to have a coat of dullcoat applied to them. check out some pics of my build at fotki. look for c-elrac I have an album there called 57ford custom.

Thanks for the heads up Charlie. I would imagine I will be adding this kit to my collection. As if I need more kits to "build" LOL ! I viewed some pics of a build elsewhere & I noticed a fuel line on the engine thinking what a nice touch now to find out its standard issue. Yea its too bad the doors aren't opened but with a #11 blade & some patience they could be! Look forward to see some pics of your build.
