I took on a project of turning an old AMT 67 Camaro into a "pro street" by using parts from the AMT Pro street 66 Chevy II. The wheel base is dead on. The interior has been a challenge. Neither tub will work with the 66 PS Chevy II chassis with out major mods. Therefore I have been scratching the interior panels, floor boards and a full roll cage. Time will tell. Your build is inspiring for me to continue my build.
